Title IV-A is a federal funding program that helps schools strengthen student achievement through well-rounded education, safe and healthy school environments, and effective use of technology.
Core Purpose
Title IV-A expands access to learning experiences such as arts, music, civics, STEM, and college and career counseling, while also investing in school environments that help students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn, and in programs that improve mental health and well-being.

States, Local Educational Agencies (LEAs), schools, and students in TK–12 through district-level federal funding allocations.

Requirements
Title IV-A funds must align with one or more of the program’s three focus areas: well-rounded education, safe and healthy students, and the effective use of technology.
For districts receiving $30,000 or more in Title IV-A funds, at least 20% must be spent on well-rounded education, at least 20% must be spent on safe and healthy students, and no more than 15% of the total allocation may be used for technology. Districts in this funding range must also complete a needs assessment to guide spending decisions.
Distribution
Title IV-A is a federal formula grant awarded to states, which then distribute funds to Local Educational Agencies (LEAs). Eligible school districts receive a minimum allocation of $10,000.
