About The Bus
Kids need more opportunities to move and play. It’s a no-brainer!
Despite this fact, many school district budgets lack funding for music, physical education, and art. Even recesses are being curtailed to increase prep time for state-mandated tests.
To help fill this void, and to get kids moving and playing, Mike Liston began facilitating group-rhythm events in schools in 2006. After a year or two dealing with limited space for kids to “turn up the volume”, he created the first DrumBus™ a self-contained mobile music room which includes the facilitator, instruments and space to play.
Why Drumming? Drumming improves confidence, creativity, listening skills, and focus. It also builds community and enhances collaboration.
It is good for the body and the brain and everyone can participate—no music experience needed.
